Moving Forward By Looking Back.
In 1994 I was introduced to the world of motion graphics and things have never been the same since. I was newly married to my wife of 24 years and holding my first job as an 8th grade science teacher and coach. Working in the world of media was never on my radar until I was handed a copy of Alias Sketch from the teacher in the technology department. No one knew what it was or what it did, so it sat on a shelf unopened until the day they handed it to me. When I opened the learning manual, I was blown away by what I saw. It was full of amazing images from movies such as Terminator 2, Jurassic Park, The Abyss and other cutting edge movies at that time. I finally realized how all those amazing special effects where created…it was on a computer with software like Sketch! I was hooked and realized I wanted to work in the media business in some capacity. I left teaching after two years and having been working professionally as a media producer ever since. OneMan Media was the first company I ever started. I did so many different types of projects during this time. From web design, to product visualization I was doing it all and loving every minute of it. The industry was new, CD Rom based applications where all the rave, computers where running at an amazing 300Mhz and advances in software where moving fast. It was an exciting time to be in the media industry. Looking back at this magical time of my life makes me excited about the future. By reflecting on how fun the journey has been getting to this point, makes me realize that moving forward will be just as exciting. Doing what you love is an incredible blessing.
